FAQ
Questions, answered.
Universal answers for skippered trips aboard the Leopard 48. Itinerary-specific questions live on each itinerary page.
Do I need any sailing experience to book a trip?
Not at all. You do not need a sailing licence or any prior experience. Your captain handles the sailing, anchoring, passages and customs clearances. Your only job is to relax and enjoy the ride — though you are welcome to take the helm, trim a sail, or learn as much as you want along the way.
What is the pace of the trip?
Thoroughly relaxed. We move slower than the rushed 7-night deliveries typically sold by brokers. Most moving days are short hops of two to three hours, mornings are for sailing and afternoons for swimming, and every itinerary holds at least one day with no passage at all.
What is included in the charter fee?
Your booking includes the boat and your captain. All boat-related running costs — fuel for the planned route, marine park fees, mooring fees and customs clearance fees — are handled on board by the captain. Food, drinks, shore excursions and gratuity are not included. We can send a provisioning list or arrange shop-and-deliver before you board.
What kind of boat will we be on, and how many people can join?
A spacious Leopard 48 catamaran with four cabins, four en-suite heads, a wide saloon and a forward cockpit. The ideal group size is two to six guests. This is a skippered charter rather than a fully crewed floating hotel — a more private, more authentic way to sail, with a professional running the boat and the rest of the space yours.
What does a typical day look like?
A balance of adventure and rest. Mornings are usually spent sailing to the next anchorage, afternoons snorkelling, swimming or exploring ashore, evenings eating at a local restaurant or aboard. No two days are the same, and no day is a forced march.
